Hi,

I was just wondering, since the Mac pro now supports two optical drives with no buttons on the machine for opening them individually, how it works when one presses the eject key on the keyboard. I cant seem to find an answer on this... Do both drives open at the same time? I imagine that would be incredibly inconvenient when you have a CD/DVD in one of the drives but nothing in the other. Does it give you a choice or something? Feedback would be appreciated on this.

Yep. Same as on the MDD G4s that have two optical drives.

There really should be a button on the machine itself. Or just have the whole drive slot cover be a button. That could be very nice, and very low profile. How are you supposed to open the drives in windows?

Presumably the same way as on all the other Intel Macs, none of which have drive buttons: use the Boot Camp drivers to enable the keyboard eject button.

That makes sense, what if I am using parallels though? I still want buttons.

I imagine the button would still work in Parallels because the main OS is OS X.
