I have a beige G3/266 (Rev A), but I would like to upgrade the motherboard to include better on-board video (Rage Pro vs. Rage II). My mother-in-law gave me an old G3 AIO with a bad power supply, but when I transferred the Rev B mobo to my tower, it wouldnt boot.

Anyway, I finally wound up getting another Rev B mobo for Christmas. I transferred everything from my Rev A (including the Rev B ROM Ive been using for months), but still no boot. (The seller guarantees that this one works.) So now I wonder if the one I already had works too, but theres something I personally dont know about. Two identical motherboards both turning up DOA seems a bit suspicious to me....

Is there some trick to getting a beige G3 (Rev A) to recognize a new (Rev B) motherboard?
