when did the last round of eMacs get upgraded, and should we be expecting some new ones soon? Id love to upgrade and especially at the cost it just makes more financial sense right now. Thanks for any info.

The eMac was updated not long ago. There are many other apple products inline to be updated first. iMac, Powerbook, and maybe the ibook. (Remember the G5 hasn't even started shipping yet)
So I wouldn't wait for an update, unless you wait to wait for awhile. But why wait? The current eMac's are awesome and are a great deal!!! If you can get an education discount then they are a no brainer!
The current 1GHz eMac is faster then the top of the line (and $500 more) iMac.

The eMacs were updated May 6. I wouldn't expect the next revision to be much more than a speed bump; they already have AirPort Extreme support and the new motherboard architecture. At their current prices, they're a good value.

I agree, I don't think we'll see a bump for quiet awhile. If anything further price drops, although I don't think Apple has gone below $799 for a computer yet. What was that econo indigo iMac350 going for back in the day, was it $799 or $699, I think the former, but I am not sure.
