I'm about to publish my book--but I need a cover image. The one I picked doesn't work. Here are reuirements:
All we request is that it comes as a JPEG or PNG (Portable Network Graphic) - 140mm wide x 220mm high
Also the image has to have a high rez--300dpi
Okay, my book is called 'The Messiah' and its a retelling of the New Testament, in my own style. I accept the image will be religious in nature, that's okay. But please, no images of Jesus or Mary.
What will you get? Well, a free copy of my book and a credit in the novel.
So fire away!

Ummm....no, mine is not like that. My Jesus (Urses) is really capable of things--its just he is unsure how to accept his burden of being the Messiah. I wanted to explore what it is like to be the son of God, with all of the failings of being human and accepting his awesome, terrible burden and destiny.

Hey, you stole my idea!
But no big thang, when it's my time I'll do the same. Congrats on getting to that point. How long did it take to finish (from concept to now)?
and are you self publishing or publisher?
Congrats again.

I'm using Publish and Be Damned, a print shop run by a MacNN member here.
The book was actually written in six short weeks. It got edited a year later by a freelance editor who just awesome then sat for three years while I did other things (like write and publish my first book).
I feel now the time is right.
I actually thought about doing a "prequel" about Moses or Abraham--probably about Abraham...maybe someday

I have a couple of shots of a sunrise over the Negev you may use but at 300dpi and 220hx140w the things are to big to upload. so I can send you an email with them attached. If you want em PM me your email.

You gotta provide the ammo, though: - a bit more info about "your style"
- as many descriptive adjectives for the general mood of the book as you can think of - "uplifting", "positive", "dark", "sinister", "contemporary" ...
- if someone asked you to describe the entire book with one (evtl. two) colors - what would they be?
- if the picture you choose is going on the front cover - what will the back look like? (text, excerpt, ...)
- anything else you can think of ...

w/o more detailed info ... and off the top of my head ... i'd probably do something like so ...
slapped on a book ...
but as stated above ... w/o more detailed info ... next to impossible to accurately depict intent, mood, etc.
