Black box - very cool.

White keyboard with an Al PowerMac - very sucky.

I'd prefer white box and black keyboard honestly.

Alrighty, time for everyone to frantically check their email all day and wait for an email from "[email protected]" and then jump around like a nut! Woohoo! The real question is, are the "DUAL G5's" shipping?

And the real answer is: NOPE.

Which you could have found out yourself because Apple said in their press release that only the single CPU G5s are shipping.

reality check--if they were cranking out 1000 per day, it would take three months to clear out the backlog.

Except that they've probably been cranking the chips and the hardware in parallel out since July.

Realistic conclusion: They are obviously cranking out more than this and probably have been cranking for some time already, so the backlog may actually worked up sometime soon. I'm curious too, we'll see.

I wonder when the Apple Store is going to get them (I want to play with one before I buy)? I stopped by the Apple Store at Tyson's Corner during my lunch break, but they still had the G4s on display.

no, Intaglio is right, it is going to take them three months to complete all the current orders because they just started making them this morning . . .

In the immortal words of Red Forman: Intaglio, don't be a dumbass.

Ah, Red, the unsung philospher.

Just called the Apple Store at Lenox a bit ago and they didn't have a dispaly model yet. But they also hadn't had any shipments yet this morning so I have to call back after 2...

I too wonder about Apple Stores getting them...I went by the SouthPoint Apple Store yesterday and the G4's were still in full effect.
