there is no way I know of.

if you want to go free, it might be a daunting for new users and slow over dialup but if you are up to it and can download sizable files, try to install OpenOffice.org for Mac OS X.

OpenOffice should read your ppt file and it's free, it just take some effort.

If you are willing to send a little money look in to a pre-compiled OpenOffice.org for Mac OS X, Keynote (I don't remember if it imports as well or just exports, I'll double check) or just bite the bullet and get Office 2004 for mac.

There might be other ways but none that I know of.

Keynote does a pretty good job of PowerPoint presentations. Occasionally some elements need editing, but the basic layout and text is usually OK.

It is so much better than AppleWorks. You wouldn't look back. It will even open your old AppleWorks presentations, although it makes a better job of PowerPoint.
