We were emailed about the Universal version of Flash released ( http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/downl...hockwaveFlash) and proceeded to install. As usual, we run permissions before and after most installations. This time we got the following, after installing:

Determining correct file permissions.

User differs on ./Library/Internet Plug-Ins/Flash Player.plugin, should be 0, owner is 501
Owner and group corrected on ./Library/Internet Plug-Ins/Flash Player.plugin
Permissions corrected on ./Library/Internet Plug-Ins/Flash Player.plugin

Permissions repair complete
The privileges have been verified or repaired on the selected volume

Why and what does it mean? Is it a concern?

This is normal for Macromedia/Adobe. It installs a bunch of stuff in the Library folder, which theoretically belongs to the system (0), but were installed as you (501). Repair permissions has fixed that by changing the ownership back to system.
I do not like those green links and spam.
I do not like them, Sam I am.

Thanks for the explanation; I always wonder when permissions are good, one pass and then changing before your eyes, so to speak.
