Some problems are manifesting themselves today with the iOS Apple Music implementation. According to the community-driven Apple Support forums, as well as complaints on social media, the search function in the iOS app isn't functioning properly -- with a search resulting in nothing found, or selections that can't be played back, with no response from the app after a tap to play. At this time, there is no workaround for the problem.
While MacNN is aware of the issue, we haven't been able to duplicate the results themselves -- Apple Music is functioning as expected for us. However, for the afflicted, even a device restart or app force-quit doesn't solve the problem. At this time, we don't have enough data to narrow down the problems to a specific Apple server farm, geographical area, or ISP, suggesting that there is a sporadic problem on Apple's end, similar to last week's Safari auto-fill issue.
At this time, Apple's status page doesn't reflect any issue with the service. MacNN has reached out to Apple, and has not as of yet received any response. OS X and Windows iTunes are not affected by the problem at this time.
