Increasing memory in an app.

Does it really incease the speed?
I've tried changing
Premeires preferred size from 16584k ->26584k &
Photoshop preferred size from 23637k ->33637k with mp support
This doesnt seem to make any difference. Can anyone shed any light on this?
G4 mp 450 256ram

It does when in low mem sitches...
Example, manipulating a small image in Photoshop, not much of a diff will be noticed (unless a very small amount of RAM has been allocated).
Using a large image though, there is a large difference.
It gives the program more room to breathe, basically.
And, you didn't increase it that much anyway...

Well, I use photoshop for work and I allocated it a minimum of 64 Mb and a maximum of 192...
But it only make s a difference, as Cipher pointed, in large files. If you're working on a 4Mb pict, if U have 32 or 256, it doesn't change anything. Look at the size of your docs and play with that. bear in mind that U have the systm running nd maybe some other applications (Illustrator) in the same time than photoshop. Do the math

PS: I heard that prior to version 5, photoshop goes faster up to 512 Mb of RAM. Then it doesn't change much. But I suspect this has changed now, as larger RAM is available
