CORUSCANT — Obi-Wan Kenobi, the mastermind of some of the most devastating attacks on the Galactic Empire and the most hunted man in the galaxy, was killed in a firefight with Imperial forces near Alderaan, Darth Vader announced on Sunday.

In a late-night appearance in the East Room of the Imperial Palace, Lord Vader declared that “justice has been done” as he disclosed that agents of the Imperial Army and stormtroopers of the 501st Legion had finally cornered Kenobi, one of the leaders of the Jedi rebellion, who had eluded the Empire for nearly two decades. Imperial officials said Kenobi resisted and was cut down by Lord Vader's own lightsaber. He was later dumped out of an airlock. . . .

Well, if the thinly veiled political parallel is to be followed, we know Vader killed Obi-Wan in the movies, therefore this must be an endorsement of Obama's claim in real life.

I thought it would be a cheap shot, but it was so immersive - I liked.

I'm offended by the analogy of Alderaan to Pakistan.

Obi-Wan was an extremist Jedi, he doesn't represent all Jedi.

Agreed.

I'm rather fond of the Obi-wan/Ubi-wan remark.

There are a bunch of them. I didn't come across the Ubi-wan comment, though. First page?

Yes,

Can anybody explain to me why in some publications his name is spelled "Obi-Wan" and in others it is spelled "Ubi-Wan"?

Athens?

FOLKS LETS LOOK AT THE BIGGER PICTURE!?!?!?

Obi-didn't incite the Jedi rebellion it was AN INSIDE JOB by the Emperor to try and wrest control of the galaxy from the Jedi. Do you really think the Jedi would fall that easily without internal meddling? And Alderan, I think it didn't have an environmental disaster at all but, was just a cover up for a weapons test gone wrong. I've talked to some Bothans and they say the Star has just such a weapons system. Seriously take a closer look and there are so many holes in the information released by the Empire.

I posted this in one of the Osama threads earlier, but it really deserves it's own thread, it's that awesome.

Here's TK-421 posting about it online. (Why isn't he at his post?)

This is just a hoax to distract us from the real issues! Why doesn't Lord Vader show us his Birth certificate? Would his birthname hint towards his hidden Jedi agena?
Awesome.
