I have a make mac pro and I tried to install xp professional on it but got an error during installation. Which OS do I need on a MP? MP has the xeon chip in it (64 ) so I assume I need the 64 bit version of xp pro right?

parallels.
Weird thing is that I used this same CD on a friends computer MBP CD ( poor guy is computer illiterate therefore: tkmd= apple tech support) and it installed just fine. That's why I thought it was a 32 bit vs 64 bit issue

Try dumping the partition Boot Camp made on the Mac Pro and starting over. It sounds like there's something not right, and starting fresh (maybe even download Boot Camp again) can't hurt. What error did you receive?
