I'm wondering if the new iTrip will work with my 12 inch Powerbook?. I notice it has a jack that plugs into the data port on the iPod. However, if I swivel it upwards so the jack is above my Powerbook (with just the headphone plug, plugged into the headphone jack port on my Powerbook) will it work? Or is the adapter specific to the iPod operating system?

Does anyone know if this will work?

P.S sorry my question sounds wierd, I copy and pasted it straight out of the email I sent Griffin ...I want a quick answer so I thought some of you maybe be able to help.

It will not work. The iTrip draws power from the remote control port, or from the firewire port of the iPod if it's the old version.

All other transmitters should work. The Belkin transmitter has been rated well.
