I heard about Jerry that day, but didn't get a chance to visit here until today. Say what you want about his art, but I think it's amazing that anyone could milk a "gawky and clumsy teenager" persona for decades had to have had something more than just a physicality.
I didn't hear about Dick Gregory until today. The picture of him on Wikipedia is awful! Dick had a way of making people face unpleasant facts despite how uncomfortable it was to talk about them. He was a gadfly in a time when we needed gadflies.
