Go to thestar.com (which is our local Toronto newspaper's website). If you're on an iPad it should take you to their iPad-specific site. You have to swipe sideways to navigate to new pages. Keep swiping sideways until you get to the Infinity ad.

And no, I don't work for them. I just thought it was a clever way to make use of the iPad for advertising. And of course, no Flash.

EDIT:

Here is the direct link to the ad's site:

http://www.infiniti.ca/ms/jx/en/interior-panorama.html

It includes versions for the iPhone 4 / 4S, iPad, and Android devices, as well as PCs and Macs. On PCs and Macs, the same content is there, but the ad has no novelty on desktops and laptops.

Yeah, I don't give a chit about the car. I just thought the ad's use of the iPad's features was well done, without it being too overbearing. I don't think I've ever seen anything like it anywhere else, with or without Flash.

Well, I've seen HTML5 demos that had some interesting features, but never in a real-world ad that actually provided at least some real content.

That is awesome! I didn't know safari and html5 could do that. Thanks for sharing.

That is amazing! This has to be the near future of mobile ads: make you feel like you're in the ad, car house, whatever. Take me for walk in Acapulco

Is this a heavy ad? Loading forever on my iPad 1,1 so I can't really check it out.

Not sure how big it is, but I suspect it's not small, given its features.

However, I found the ad elsewhere, so you don't have to go to the Star website anymore:

http://www.infiniti.ca/ms/jx/en/interior-panorama.html

They have desktop/laptop versions here too, but it's a lot less interesting there. They do have an iPhone 4 version though, and it works well.
