When I try to drag a bunch of MP3's into Toast for burning, I always get a message that at least a few of the files are "MPEG layer 1 or 2, Toast only handles layer 3 files." Now I KNOW that all the files are MP3's, and I even tried reconverting them into MP3's again, but the same files still didn't work. I can play them in SoundJam or Quicktime Player just fine! Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone know a solution?

Try updating Toast, or trashing its prefs file

Toast was recently installed and is up to the latest version, as for throwing away the prefs... I just did that and the problem is still happening, any other ideas?

I've had the same problems. I gave up and just Convert to aiff.

Sound Jam can convert from mp3 to aif pretty fast. 8-10x on a 300MHz G3. I do this to save myself from the troubles of recording from mp3.
