jaguar on ibook 500?

i might be getting two copies of jaguar one for my imac and one to use as decor. but i'd like to use it on my ibook, but not sure if it will work. i have 384 megs of ram but not a lot of video ram. can i turn off those special video features on it?

Should work great. I have it running on a 500 MHz Pismo Powerbook w/ 640 MB RAM and it flies. Much better than 10.1.5. Hope this helps.

but doesn't a pismo have upgradable video card? i'm stuck with 8 megs.

You do not need a large video card, no. (The PowerBook's video card is not upgradeable, either)
Quartz Extreme simply will not be enabled on the iBook 500. It will still run fine, though, and will in fact get a nice speed boost overall (so I hear).

Im running Jaguar on an iBook 500 with 384 MB of RAM, and it runs much better then 10.1.5 did, but still nothing to write home about compared to a G4 system, but this is expected...
