If anyone else is having issue with 6.12.x losing connection to localhost, causing the CPU(s) to go idle, your input would be appreciated at the BOINC forums.

Thank you, keep on crunching!

It sounds rather like they've solved it. A buggy 6.12.26 release, which was apparently spawning a lot of shared memory requests. Or using up all available file handles. If it was the last one though, it should generate fopen errors for other processes / apps around the same time.

Perhaps, but the sample group is pretty small hence my post here.

Turns out that the issue is not resolved, at least not for me. Back to 6.10.58 again.

By the way, when I log into MacNN Forums fulltiltpoker and livejasmin open in new tabs, is this a new feature or is it local to my machine?

I haven't seen that. I normally use Firefox, so I logged out and back in with Safari as a test. Nothing unusual.

If you can duplicate it, we'd be very interested. We don't allow popup ads.

I'm using OmniWeb 5.11.*alpha, it happened when I started this thread and again when I replied today. Editing /etc/hosts took care of the problem though.

Hmmm, happened again. When I clicked on Shaktai's "I'm Baaack" thread from Team MacNN - MacNN Forums , Live Sex - Hot Live Sex Shows!... LiveJasmin .. loaded in another tab. I have it blocked so nothing actually loaded, but still fishy.

I get something similar on other sites where a new tab will load for google gadgets or intellitxt, but not some random adult site.

Checked it in both Safari and Firefox and no problems at all. Never had any pop-ups on these forums, and especially no adult sites. Got to be something else triggering this rather then the forums, some kind of adware? And in firefox I don't even have pop-ups blocked.
