I don't think Apple would be stupid enough not to include any browser!

Chimera may be an okay browser, but it's definitely the 'answer to every problem' like a lot of people think... plus, it has '0' features other than being a web page renderer, and that's not what people want.
First there was man, then there was Macintosh

Chimera has probably yet to be blessed by Steve, Avie and the like. It's a great start. It just needs a lot of polish. We might see something by 2003: Macworld San Francisco or Tokyo along with iChat 2, but don't bet on it.

i never said i thought Chimera was going to ship with Jaguar.
My guess is also IE 5.2.1 since it has the most features. Now that they have their deal with AOL it would not totally shock me if they included Netscape (even though it is a piece of crap compared to the latest builds of Mozilla). What Apple should do is what they did in the old days...just include both and let people decide which they like. If you dont like it...delete it...simple as that. at least let people have the option.
I. too, don't expect Chimera to ship with a MacOS anytime soon. It probably will not be known as Chimera either. The "code name" will be Chimera, but when it is officially released by Apple it will be known as something like iBrowse, or just Browser.

Microsoft has their next-generation, completely rewritten <a href="http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/events/svspeaker/04-10browne.asp" target="_blank">Internet Explorer 6.0 for OSX</a> coming in early 2003. It uses a completely new, faster rendering architecture without any OS9 legacy code, so it would seem a waste for Apple to do their own browser, when it highly unlikely to be better than the next MS browser.

apple is just using the chimera developer to build an HTML engine, not a web browser. You know how sherlock renders html? and mail.app does? That's what this is for. An API for Mac OS X, not a web browser. People need to stop coming up with crazy speculations.

Why would a company hire an interface expert to create an html engine (something with no interface)? David Hayatt is the one who designed the XUL inteface for Mozilla.
