I have a 20" Core Duo iMac that has developed a sleep problem in the last week or so. It goes to sleep fine when I manually put it to sleep, but when it tries to sleep automatically, the screen goes black and the sleep light just stays on. The hard drive also occasionally makes some noises. It doesn't actually go to sleep.

I recently got a Wacom tablet, but I don't think that's causing the problem. The problem didn't start immediately after I got the tablet, and it still happens when I unplug the tablet and restart. Other than that I only have the keyboard and my printer hooked up, and they've been that way for ages.

I repaired permissions and the disk.
