Hey all, I just watched the Ultra Music Festival on INHD. For those that don't know, INHD is a digital cable channel that has strictly HD programming.

At any rate, I really liked the music, and I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on DJs to check out, sources for music, magazines, things like that. I was pretty blown away by a group called Rabbit In The Moon.

Thanks, look forward to hearing from you...

any particular sub-genre you're looking for? Streaming internet radio is a great place to hear awesome live sets, personally I like afterhoursdjs.org metromixradio.com trancesphereradio.org or proton radio (among others). Lots of trance/house/progressive stuff on there. bassdrive is awesome if you want drumb&bass or jungle stuff, and there are plenty of others. most have track listings, or, like AfterHoursDJs, a chat room and you can talk to people in there about currently playing tracks and can get really good info on similar stuff. and it's all free (and portable with wiretap or audio hijack)

Do you speak of the Ultra Fest in Miami?

A good place to find new electronic artists is at http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/
It may be a little too much at first bc there's so many artists. So I'd recommend to search Acquisition for "radio one" sets (often called "essential mixes") and d/l the ones with the most sources because chances are that they are decent.

My favs (may help get you started):
Sasha and John Digweed
Sandra Collins
Daft Punk
Steve Lawler
Frank West
Artful Dodger
Paul Oakenfold
Roger Sanchez
Timo Maas
Richard 'Humpty' Vission
Bad Boy Bill
Terry Mullan
Adam Freeland

To really help you out though, you'd need to give us more artists that you're into.

also good source, I agree.

If you can grab the August 8 (I think) Oakenfold Essential Mix set from Cream (at Amnesia, Ibiza) from this past summer, I'd highly reccomend it. I recorded most of it when trancesphere broadcasted it a while back... it was awesome. Oh, and on that note, this past weekend, they were playing nothing but the best Essential mixes of the past year, it was an awesome day or so for my headphones

Fennesz is my favorite electronic artist.
He is one of the leading figures of Viennese school of electronica.
Check out Endless Summer, Live in Tokyo and Venice.

I tend to agree.

From all parts of electronica, or at least the ones I've listened to so far, some of my preferred artists include:

Paul Oakenfold
DB Boulevard
Ferry Corsten
Milk Inc
E-Type
Benassi Bros
Sash!
Daft Punk
The Cynic Project
Ian Pooley
TGP Project (very hard to find)

And I've only dented the library my friend got when he lived in the UK.

Fennesz is very cool - must agree.

Have you tried listening to Soma FM in the electronic section of iTunes Radio? I have discovered loads of great new music here.

I've recently become obsessed with DJ Andi C -- check out a ton of his mixes over at Crystal Clouds (reg required, but fabulous content). Great if you like progressive, uplifting, melodic trance. There are some other great mixes over at Trance Addict as well (the Chicane live from Palladium set is one of my all-time favorites). Good stuff from Tiesto, The Thrillseekers, PVD and Matt Hardwick, as well.
