There is no Mac OS X download, and the JAR doesn't work. Awesome.

Hmm you right, auto update worked great for me though... did you try that?
I assumed they would have it for download on the site too if autoupdate worked fine...

Yeah, I just got the autoupdate route to work. Kind of roundabout, though, especially since they don't have the old Mac file on their Downloads page either. But where is the swarm view? It isn't in View, as I would expect.

Java 5 doesn't appear in the Software Update panel.. should I wait for it there or is it safe to d/l off the web & install?

It's safe but it doesn't replace the 1.4.2 JVM.

From the look of things, you don't actually need Java5 to run Azureus. They recommend it, but it's not needed. This is a Good Thing for those of us waiting for the Cisco update.

Since updating my Azureus won't download. I'm connected to 450 seeds and 160 peers and I'm getting exactly 0 kbps.
Any ideas anybody? I'd reinstall, but since there's no full OSX version available on the site I can't.

Here's the download link for version 2.2.0.2 for Mac. You can reinstall that.

2.3.0.0 was killing my CPU so i went & installed Java 1.5 from Apple, went to the Java Pref. and set it so Apps and the web used Java 1.5 and such. started Azureus again, same thing, always taking between 55% - 70% of my CPU. chose to inspect process using activity monitor, went under "Open Files and Ports". it would seem that regardless of the Java Pref., it still uses Java 1.4.2. correct me if i am wrong because i am no programer and may be reading the info incorrectly. anyhow, went back to 2.2.0.2 and everything's right where it belongs.

So has anybody actually seen this rumored swarm view, and if so, would they be so kind as to explain where it's hidden?

Odd. I'm d/l at about 15k up / 15k down using the same softare setup as you, connected to 52 peers and 28 seeders
According to Activity Monitor Azureus is taking 17.5% of processor time. This is on an iBook 600

The first thing I stumbled upon because I use the "details" view predominantly.
On a running torrent, right click and choose "show details" In that window choose the middle button (between clients and parts)
boom
swarm

Ah, found it. I was looking in the menubar (clearly not a True Mac App). Many thanks for the tip-off.

It's there, but I wouldn't call it "3D", as it's drawn using 2D graphics. Every machine is represented with a circle, which I believe is actually a pie chart representing how complete the download is for that machine. When pieces are transferred, a small animated box is sent along the connecting line from the sender to the receiver.
There is some attempt at drawing this in perspective, but it does not use 3D graphics. It's kind of nifty, but I fail to see the utility of this sort of view anyway, however it's drawn.
