Reboot the phone? I had that same situation once, but after a reboot it never happened again.

The log in pop up box in the blue bar at the top doesn't work on an iPhone. I think I did it by trying to make a post, then it takes you to a proper log in page, log in there and set it to remember your log in. That should work and keep it that way.

It'll be much easier if you just comply.

I just tried it and found out the same thing-Safari just POOF! went away. ajprice's suggestion does get you to a default log in page though, which does work. I just did it, and of course I remembered to check "remember me" as well-it's below the password box.

So is it a MacNN site issue or an iPhone Safari issue?

As I thought, while some of the forum's code may contribute to it (the dropdown, for example), if it causes the app to crash, it's an app problem. I'm reporting the bug right now.
