(I wasn't really sure where to put this, since the problem is so mysterious to me. I decided to put it here rather than Peripherals because I think it's most likely not a hardware problem. The mods can, of course, feel free to move this wherever they want.)
I recently installed a HP PSC 1350. It seemed to be working all right, but then it turned out that only my user (UID 501) can print to it. All other users (I even tried creating a clean user) get an error dialog that just reads, "Error when printing." The Console log says, "PMSessionBeginDocumentNoDialog failed. (error -108)" � error -108 is "Heap Zone Full".
I decided to uninstall it and try reinstalling using another user to see if they would inherit the ability to use the printer. The installer just quits with the message "This installer needs Administrator privileges or higher in order to run" � even if I've given the user admin privileges. Also tried repairing permissions; no difference there.
This is the most baffling problem I've ever come across. If anybody has an ideas or experience with something like this, I'd really appreciate the help.
