Evolution of Security
I just don't know what to make of this. I mean, everyone now gets to post on their blog how much they hate the TSA and how pointless they are, and the TSA ignores them? What's this for?

Some government contractor probably pitched the idea and now gets paid $30 million a year to maintain it.

It appears that they recognize they have a communication problem.
They're using it to make neat little videos that explain why they believe they have to do these things.
They're taking complaints in comments, and rejecting or posting them without any transparency. If it were a private site, like MacNN, they could moderate at will. Here, it's a publicly funded site, and they're censoring based on whether or not it's a political rant, or has inappropriate speech (swear words.)
Granted, the 1st amendment is that congress shall make no law abridging, and the blog isn't made by law - but it is funded publicly under laws established by Congress.

It's not whether they have the right to do this, but just, what's the point? I mean, if they had thought it through, they would just not do the stupidest of the stuff they do, instead of blogging about it. It's just lame.

Ok, so they're doing it.
What are the possible outcomes of them doing it?
(a) it will go by the wayside, ignored and useless both to the TSA and anyone else.
(b) it will get greater attention and embarrass the TSA publicly
(c) any others you can think of?

If (b) comes to pass, then (a) will be imposed or (c) -- total closure -- will take affect.

Transportation Security Authority, for those who aren't informed.
One of the responses to the attempts to violate airport security (Richard Reid, 9/11, etc.) was to fire the private airport security screeners, baggage handlers, and make them government employees.

It's a shame that we cannot fire the whole TSA.

I agree with Cold Warrior. On the other hand, I think government should be open and accountable, and blogs are a good thing. A blog like this, though, is just openness at a surface level, while Bush's corruption infestations remain secret (e.g., the recent EPA decision).

The 4 o'clock train will be a bus.
It will depart at 20 minutes to 5.

Right - this is not openness at all. The response to everything is "there are bad people out there, and you need us to protect you from the, Trust Us, we know better than you do". There is no rational explanation for the TSA - it should have been strangled at birth.
