The TAM wasn't a very good computer (especially for the price). I don't know why everyone's so ga-ga over it.

Clearly the OP doesn't because his ocmputer is missing spell check

btw, I own a g4 cube, color classic, and an SE. The g4 cube runs like a champ but I've not fired up the other two in quite a while.

For me the cube was the coolest computer designed, and after that was the g4 iMac though I never had the opportunity to own one.

My G4 Cube has a fanless GeForce 6200 video card, 1.7 GHz G4 7447 and runs Leopard (which installed natively) with full Core Image support. I also installed a Pioneer SuperDrive flashed to region-free. I had to put in an undervolted base fan in it though to keep it cool.

My other G4 Cube has a fanless GeForce 6200 as well, but only has the original G4 450, and I had to clone Leopard onto it. It just has the stock DVD-ROM drive (although I flashed it to region free). It is completely silent though since there is no fan.

My computer is the coolest.

This is an old picture. I need to update it when I get a chance.

I envy those with big screens. I also envy those with more than 2 screens. You happen to have both.

All that aside though, thats a pretty sweet setup.

I've made a lot of changes since that picture, and I still have more changes to come.

This weekend I'm going to start on the finish work that will take several months.

Some of the changes include changing the desktop with a 2 level desktop along with changing the desktop material from Oak to Formica.

I've got a MacBook with an external Samsung display, mouse and tablet... probably not the coolest but I like it very much. I plug in three cables, power, mini DVI and USB.

I always liked this form factor. It would work perfectly in a component cabinet in a home theater system and sat well under a monitor. Make it so it could be placed on it's side and it would be even better.

I agree, I like the way the bulging feet look like the base of of a Power Mac tower.
The LC475 was the predecessor, (and the first computer I bought myself), I love the lip at the front.

Certainly the most unusual ocmputer I've used lately is my 2005 vintage mHack running 10.5.2 Leopard on an Athlon board/processor. It's a beautiful little backup system, especially given that I didn't even think AMD processors would run OSX and I installed it on this almost by accident.

i bought this imac g5 2.1ghz in 2006 with two years remaining applecare from a businessman. his son cut it up with a stanleyknife. it was sold for roughly 1/3 of the new price. The 20" is still fuctional but misses some pieces in the middle.

i connected it to a 190€ 20" TFT and now have two screens. It's fine
however the imac itself is desintegrating, first i lost capability to burn duallayers, then dvd's.

its superstrange but i recently lost the dual-screen functionality, reinstalling the OS didnt help. all it does right now is mirror the screen. o well, i was about to get a 20" alu anyway

Here is the latest photo of my computer setup. I still have a lot of work to do. The finish work is going to be the hardest of all.

My first piece of plexiglass broke. I switched to Lexan and it is working out much better. I'll paint and add trim as I get time.

I may have to do some machining of the plastic trim pieces.

Everything that isn't LCD is going to be covered when it is finished. No exposed wiring or wood. Everything will be covered with trim.

I feel like having that many items in the dock ruins its usefulness. With Tiger, I used QuickSilver, and Leopard's spotlight function works fast enough that I almost never have to use the dock.
