From everywhere I hear the great news of people working with their new 17"PB, but I have still to wait. Here in the Netherlands, there is still no sign of any 17"PB. Even worse, we're still waiting for a dummy.
From my reseller I heard that I still have to wait 3 weeks to get mine.

Yes beta, you might get the 17 "zoll" next week, but there's still no word from apple denmark yet! Some resellers say 2 weeks
we just have to live and breath from all the nice words it gets here on this forum...

I havent seen any demos so far.
Unluckily aple removed (!sic!) my order.
They had some problems with the credit card and then thought that I might not be interested any longer without letting me now.
Now they insist in ordering new. According to the apple-lady that will take three to five weeks, like mentioned in german apple store.
Not the best way to welcome a switcher.

The Apple Store Sweden still says 3-5 weeks... which means that, worst case scenario they'll start shipping mid-April.

I'm still waiting for my PowerBook, but I'm in Portugal so we pay more (4163,81 more or less the same in US $) we don't have Portuguese keyboard, and they don't know if it can be delivered in the next month
Does anyone know when they'll be delivered in Portugal or in Spain

Sorry, we're all still guessing when they come.
One thing is for sure. In the USA they're shipping and the 17"PB is cheaper than in Europe. Why??? Maybe they take a boat in stead of a plane.

My new 17" friend is supposed to be shipping on or before the 25th from Taiwan to Amsterdam, according to Apple Store Netherlands.
I ordered within a couple of days of the announcement. The woman on the phone told me no 17" had been shipped to Europe as of 19th of march.
Only 4 more days.... (+ 3-5 days shipping)

The only European nations receiving the 17 inchers are the UK, Spain and, uh, Denmark?
France, Germany, and Belgium will be last, if ever, to receive them.

It's a ploy. You'll be getting 7 lbs. of delightfully cheery smiles, greetings, and good wishes.

Good News FeilonG,
in combination with the story of TXH147, it seems they are shipping to Europe and especially to the Benelux.
I hope that my reseller will call me soon.

Hahaha... funny
I just picked up my ACD 23" at my local Apple reseller and was told that they expect to have the 17", in mass quantity, around 6 weeks from now.
Soooo... worst case scenario, we have to wait around 6 more weeks max.

Apple tells me that "Our product department informed us that your order should ship by the beginning / middle of next week". BTO (1GB, non-local keyboard) and the Brenthaven bag, which I hear might have delayed things.

No, no... I just mean in 'mass quantity', obviously if you pre-ordered you should expect it sooner I think.
Of course, I ordered it through Apple Store Eduaction... which pretty much means I'm at the tail end of the queue
I don't mind waiting though...

vmarks, I like your colorful sense of humor, too. I would participate in the lounge except that I do not fit there. I have a powerbook running OS X, so, aptly, I frequent the powerbook and os x forums.
Besides, the lounge folks are nuts. Not good for my sanity.
Still, I shall take heed of your hint. Henceforth I shall refrain from saying anthrax, vx, ricin, etc. regardless of how unusually humorous they may be under certain circumstances.
I appreciate your concern, forum master. I aim to please.

I ordered mine at the moment the world became aware of this wonder.
If I have to believe all the stories, I can look forward to my 17"PB this week. BUT if I call my reseller or Apple Benelux or Netherlands they still say that they expect them in a few (2?) weeks.
Let me know when someone really got his long expected 17"PB.

Yeah, there's no definite information about when the 17" is going to be available in Estonia, either. After switching my wife first (to a 15" iMac) I couldn't stand the wait until the 17" finally gets here and went for the route described in my signature.
So now, hopefully it will take a long time yet. Otherwise I'll probably end up "why couldn't I have waited these couple of more weeks"

Bad news came yesterday from Apple Store Netherlands. My order was supposed to ship on or before the 25th of march.
Yesterday I received email notification that due to "supply problems" my order was rescheduled to ship in the first week of april.
How much longer can one wait :-(
Any other fellow Dutch received their 17" ?

My dad (!) saw one today at an Apple seminar in Bergen, Norway. Most likely the only one in Norway
I have yet to order mine even, still working out the finances, so I guess I shouldn't complain.

Funny you mention that since I too ordered with English OS and Keyboard... I was under the impression that doing so would, in fact, delay the order more since they normally have localized items ready.

WeToday I spoke to the guys of Apple, but it seems that their mouth are locked. They are not allowed to tell anything and speak only like they also have to guess.
Bullshit, they know more, but how long it will take I don't know. What I know, is that the resellers still don't have a show-model. How bad can it be.
If someone has got his 17"PB, let me know.

dude man, trust me, next week you will have two shipments of the 17" leaving taiwan. I know the people at apple store UK keep their mouth shut. But I made a big hassle and called alot and they have prioratised my order and told me that the logistic department has informend them of two large shippments from taiwan. If we are getting 2 shippments I'm sure the rest of europe will get the same. They are leaving on tuesday and friday, so expect a shippment notification on one of those days.

Yes I know, it's foolsday, but the reseller promised it will be no joke. I better believe, otherwise I will find it a sick joke. I let you know when I have time to return to this forum. My 17"PB comes first, and I'm a Mover (not a Switcher), so I also have to learn to work with a Mac. >

Actually it looks like it's starting to happen... I just went to the Apple Store (Sweden), and checked all the way through and the PB 17" has an delivery estimate of 5-7 days, yes... days.
Also, my order went from 'Being Reviewed' to 'Being Assembled', so it definitely looks like things are starting to happen!!

Hi Jonnie
Thanks for the congrats. Just got it the weekend before my birthday. What a birthday present!
I ordered mine at www.comptakeaway.ch, a reseller associated with Zurich university. I prepaid whe whole amount (EDU pricing) on 1/16. I was one of the top 5 on their order list and I could pick it up on 3/28. Great!
