I recently had my screen replaced (under warranty).

It's a 24" WHITE iMac.

Reason: the converter, that up-converted the current for the screen, was humming like crazy, and it's kind of merged to the screen, so you have to replace both.

Now I notice, that the right side of the screen is noticeably darker than the left side.

I know, it's not an Eizo ColorEdge, but there's so much difference, that I cannot compare photos left and right any more. The difference is something like one aperture opening.

It this normal, or what could be wrong?

Well, I see I'm the only one who noticed.

But I'm also dependent on very detailed work.

I know, I know, I should have an Eizo ColorEdge.

I should...

It's possible that when they replaced the screen they didn't seat the backlight properly...I'm going to assume it's a long skinny cold cathode fluorescent bulb that needs to be in a very particular place to give you even lighting.

Thanks for the info.

Can it be done in a service center? It's really a - for me- big difference between left and right.

You will probably need a new screen again.

I just brought my iMac to the service.

And I'm getting a new screen. (Screen #3 now).

Appreciate your comments!
