I transferred some songs from my friends Ipod to my Powerbook using Pod Manager. The songs are now in my Itunes library. However, I can't transfer them to my Ipod. When dragging them manually to the Ipod icon in Itunes, it doesn't highlight and won't let me move any of his files on there. Does anyone know why? His files are actually AAC files while all of my files currently on my ipod are mp3s. Does this have anything to do with it? I've transferred my mp3s to his ipod with no problem. Oh, and he uses a PC too.

Can anyone suggest what the problem might be?

I just did a test and converted one of the AAC files to MP3. It transferred to the ipod no problem after the conversion. does that mean my ipod won't play AAC files? I have an older 20 gig ipod with 1.3.1 software.

Fixed it. Turns out my software wasn't 1.3 and was an older 1.2 that doesn't support AAC files.

does your ipod have the latest firmware update?

or Quicktime 6.3 or above installed on your system?
