Hi! I have an original iMac that's been pretty upgraded, 600mhz harmoni, 512 megs ram, etc. Anyway, I partitioned the 120 gig hd, installed os9 and osx10.4 onto the first 7 gig partition, and set the drive to cable select. When I boot, I get a flashing question mark. I was told that holding down option allows a boot menu, but that hasn't done anything for me. I would just start from a CD, but unfortunatly my optical drive doesn't work (I had to install os9 and osx onto the drive while it was in my powermac).

Any help? I also installed OSX onto a firewire drive, but again, without the ability to choose where it wants to boot, I can't figure out how to get it to even see the FW drive. One would think the holding down option would do SOMETHING, but so far nothing whatsoever is showing up.

Thanks!

I changed the drive to master, and now I get an OSX booting screen, then a circle with a slash through it and the spinning starburst thingie. Any ideas?

Zapped the Pram, did nothing. So I held down command-v for verbose mode. Bucnh of text comes up, and I start getting all these "extension "com.apple.driver.initiofFWbridge" has no kernal dependancy" things. Last one is extension com.apple.driver itunesphone driver has no kernal dependancy.

...um... okay. Maybe the firewire part of the harmoni upgrade is messing up tiger?
