Betting sports is one of my hobbies. I dont call it "betting" I call it "Sports Investment" Like we take a risk like stock marketers take a risk to buy stocks

I have been betting for 5 years and always make profit yearly because i use strict money management.

The only betting I do on sports is a friendly $20/year NFL pool. Never anything more than that.

Is VisorMan an alias for Pete Rose or Michael Jordan?

I loved Pete, but there is just no excuse to bet on baseball when you are a pro. Even in the minor league locker rooms there are big posters warning against it.

Sweet.. Some people are against betting.. Look at online poker it is crazy chit man... I hate pokers. It takes away of my time to cap games. I like the action when i put some money in the games

It would be nice to see I am not the only mac users that gambles sports LOL

An athlete has to actually be playing somewhere in order for someone to bet against him.

Unless you're betting against him in the World Series (of Clubhouse Poker), that is.

Not true. MLB is betting against Rickey Henderson right now as a matter of fact.

Clubhouse poker? Don't make me bring in Keith Hernandez and Kevin Mitchell to this discussion.

How so?

Struck a nerve, haven't I?

Keith is doing play-by-play for the Mets' new local cable station now. I get the impression that his best stories from his playing days are not fit for TV.

Not sure where Kevin Mitchell is now.

Not at all, but it sounds like Rickey has with every Mets fan since that so-called incident. They seemed to love his coaching ability though this spring.

Ah well. Rickey can still run the bases, and can probably play in the field servicably (better than Soriano for the Nats, certainly! ), but I'm not at all convinced that he can hit major-league pitching anymore. It's kind of hard to steal bases if you can't get on base in the first place. Then again, with Beltran and Floyd nursing minor injuries, who would you rather have out there in their place? Endy Chavez, or Rickey? I'd pick Rickey. But I'd put Beltran back out there once he gets better.

I don't think MLB has a copnspiracy to not give Rickey a chance. Heck, the Mets gave Jose Lima a chance this year, who's no spring chicken, and signed Julio Franco to a 2-year contract, who's older than dirt! But Franco is happy with a pinch-hitting role. Would Rickey be happy if he wasn't starting?

I think I bet $5 on the all-star game with a friend sometime in the 80's. I lost.

Of course, he didn't start with Boston all that much and/or the Dodgers the last few years. It's not so much about playing time any longer (for awhile it was), but it's more about the game giving him another chance to go out and end his career playing on a MLB team.

Well, if he is intent on actually ending his career and making it a true last hurrah, maybe someone can pick him up when the rosters expand in September?
