I orginally made this for fun the Tuesday morning after the new iMac was released and I showed it in the lounge. It's a little song and dance routine starring our favourite new mac, taken from the iMac promo video, but just a wee bit different.

Putting on the Ritz

Software used:
IE 5.1, Quicktime Pro, and iMovie 2

Director:
pathogen

I took the iMac Promo from the Apple iMac webpage, and converted it into a whopping huge .DV file so I could import it into iMovie. I was listening to my MP3 collection that morning, and the whole idea began when I was thinking about the New iMac and my MP3 of "Putting on the Ritz" from Young Frankenstein (1974), so I converted the MP3 File to an .aiff file and imported it into iMovie to sync the two up. In iMovie, I made about 20 cuts and crops and rearrangements. To seg into the commercial, I used Macnn's own photos of the MWSF Keynote. Getting the timing was the funnest/hardest part.

Here is the original Lounge thread and the comments it got:

When you were young and your heart was an open book, you used to say "live and let live."
But if this ever changing world, in which we live in, makes you give in and cry, say "live and let die."

If I were a new iMac, I'd be so insulted.
