THe same way you would if Windows was your lone install: disable your TCP/IP and/or Ethernet

Tons of material online. Do a Google search. If you are applying your Windows updates automatically (now the default as of SP2), you don't run a very high risk by simply being online. If you are behind a router, your level of risk is also diminished. The worst case scenario would be that your Windows image would need to be recreated - nothing on your Mac side would be affected.

Your Windows environment is completely independent of your Mac environment in Parallels. Note that since Parallels (and VMWare) emulate a generic video card, many modern demanding 3D games will not work well under para-virtualization.

Just unplug the cable or turn off AirPort (through Network Connections|AirPort card (or whatever it's labeled)).

If you follow Moose's instructions, your Windows installation CANNOT use the networking device you disable. Period. Can't do it at all. Really.

Is Parallels up to the task of playing your games? I suspect not.

If "she" only wants to play old, bargain-bin games, then there will be no need for an Internet connection and Parallels will probably work fine. But as noted above, properly updated and protected, there's no problem with having a Windows computer online...

If you never want Windows to access the network you could just disable / remove networking in the virtual machine configuration. Then Windows will think that there is no network interface.

Then use shared folders if you ever want to transfer anything between Windows and X.

yep
I already pay $30-$50 a pop for my console and hand held games the last thing I need is another place to spend that kind of money, plus there are a lot of good cheap pc games age of empires, pharoah and others come to mind.

still para is a ****ing bitch and I would much rather have bootcamp working. but its still a no go.
