it needs more color. like, somatic instead of puft.

I think that is tight , maybe make the orbs different colors like komisar said and style the finder buttons in blue or green so they aren't flat and plan. If you don't have the time and energy to put this into a theme I'm sure the extraordinary max will do it.

I would love to see this theme done. Maybe dlanham can mock it all up and someone can do it. I think if anyone elese tries to emulate his touch it will inevitably end up as hogwash, coming straight from his concept and thought process it will be grand.

Well, I got it started, but it is really not working with the metal at all. Although it seems to work decent in the themepark preview for the metal window, it crashed my finder a few times trying to get it to apply.

If anyone wants to play with it, just drop me an email and I'll send you what I have done so far, but it's horrendously ugly now that I see it in action (especially those blue menus).

I think for now I'm just going to concentrate on getting the add-on set done for somatic. Then I'll have some time to play around with a few theme ideas ^_^

aaahemmm

Soory about that. Too much late-night Olympic watching

I like the new version better, though I would like to see something more from your Somatic flavor. Texture, color, your style.

Gett'er done!

Just want to throw in my support for dlanham. That mockup is absolutely outstanding. If you didn't change a thing, it could be the one theme that manages to top Aqua forever. Only thing I would do is add more contrast to the min/max buttons so they stand out more.

I don't know... The menus so freekin' rock, but the rest of it just doesn't jive with the rest of his work!
I am really looking forward to a theme by him that is absolutely parallel with the look of Somatic or invadng your space. After all, we are going to be using his desktops and icons with this theme, no?

Continuity is everything,

no those are spots from your eyes.

yes, those are the signature David Lanham poka-dots in the drop down menu. created by yours truly.

its not for release. thats really the only thing i have done and i don't feel like giving out an alpha. but yes, the dots work.

Come on fireside! You must release that theme!!

I would maybe shade the egdes of the dropdown menus to give it some depth.

the menus are the closest thing you can get to from david's mockup so im going to stick with 'em.

or do you mean the shadows that i removed? cause i removed those with windowshadex. youll see the shadows if i ever finish.

I honestly think the 3d Close/Min/Max button corners should be the smallest bit more defined to make the 3d-ness more obvious.

I'd also like to see each lil green button do some completely ridiculously different crazy thing (when pressed)... that would be pretty "Lanham", no?

well im kinda hesitant to make anymore stuff cause its not really my themes, its Davids, so i don't want it to be "fireside is trying to be david lanham who is trying to make a theme" theme.

so i'm gonna email him and see if he can make all the stuff in Max's Theme Template then i can make the theme. cause making the theme is the hard part.

That is not *the* Lanham theme. It's a personal mod of *my* version of the Lanham look that won't be released as anything *Lanham*......The poster of that screenie goes by the name of Mills and is from Japan. His english is limited to babelfish stuff which isn't very complete. He make these personal mods and to my knowledge, doesn't release them. Sometimes I get mildy perturbed as the speed of some of the Windows users with regard to ports prior to theme releases but knowing how I myself alter teasers and the like its understanable. (the impatience). I have no problem with authorized ports to Windows for anything I make. It is a ridiculous stance in my opinion (us vs. them) and customization should not be contained to one platform.

Thats my take......

Hey, just a brief update on the theme status

As fireside mentioned, the theme is coming along quite well although completely different direction and look than my inital mockup. It is now a much better match to both the icons and my personal taste.

I must admit, theming is much harder than making icons.. not necessarily with the building of it, but more in the designing with consraints, learning what can be broken, and making something that is appealing and also functional. I'm thouroughly enjoying it though

Since I'm not going to post any screenshots (mainly because it keeps changing so much), I will at least post a teaser...
