I think that an iMac4 is a Core Duo and an iMac6 is a Core 2 Duo. What is an iMac5? And what do the trailing numbers \1 or \2 mean?

There seems to be a big difference in performance betwixt and between these various alternatives.

If you're looking at 'CPU Type' to see what kind of computer is crunching a S@H work unit and want to know what the codes for Macs are, use:

The Apple Museum | NewWorld Macs: Machine Identifiation

It seems fairly accurate from the standpoint that the machines listed for a particular user match up to their RACs pretty well. For some reason however, S@H picks up my iLamp as 'PowerMac6,1', which The Apple Museum says is 'iMac (USB 2.0)'. It's really a 'iMac (17-inch 1 GHz)', which according to TAM should show up as 'PowerMac4,5'.
