My 15" powerbook 1.5ghz is going to sleep after 45-50 minutes of work time. I can't keep it awake and have to wait awhile before I can get another session of work time. Looking at the system log under the system profiler, it shows the PM received an "emergency overtemp signal". Any suggestions as to what is causing this?

Others have had this problem:

emergency overtemp signal - Google Search

It may really be overheating or the temp sensor may be faulty:

Powerbook goes sleep - macosx.com

Use this utility to see if the temps are within specs:

Temperature Monitor 3.9 - VersionTracker

Seems likely to be a hardware issue, and you may want to bring it to Apple for repair.
