MacBook & Cats: Any way to selectively lock internal, but not external keyboard?

Hi -
I'm sure many of you have experienced this... Your cat comes prancing and then walks on your keyboard either while you're there or not and your document, search box, or wherever the cursor happens to be looks like "sssddddddddddddddfffffffffffffffffkljjjjjjjjjjjjj jjjjjjjjjjjj". Well, whenever my MacBook is plugged in at home, I have it set up with an external monitor, keyboard & mouse so I don't use the MacBook's keyboard while it's in this state. So I'm wondering if theres a way to lock or ignore input from that keyboard while I've got the external keyboard plugged in? Something akin to the "Ignore trackpad when mouse is present" option one gets in the Keyboard & Mouse preference pane.
Thanks in advance :-)
I don't like the idea of keeping the macbook closed while in operation (less screen real estate, macbook runs hotter), but if there's not a software option I'll probably look into getting a different stand or something rigid with a spacer to put over the keyboard.

All together now:
Awwwwwwww...
As for the question, no, the only thing I can think of would be to close your laptop while you aren't using it.

I'd have to agree with this. Now, it's one thing if you live out on a farm, but in a suburban or city situation, however, there's no reason your cat should be outside. It's a fantastic way to shorten the cat's life and have them bring home all sorts of problems.

Holy cow CATS, I was just looking at your blog... How many iPods do you have? You seem to have all of the toys, I take it your parents are pretty wealthy?
Looking at your site I can tell that you seem to like creative activities... keep at it, your hard work will be rewarded!
