I shut down after class today and walked home. After restarting my 12" 1.3ghz PB I discovered I was no longer able to click anything. The cursor would create selection boxes, but could not click and open programs, recall the dock, etc... The trackpad works fine. My BT mouse moves the cursor and I could utilize the right-click, but no left click. I ran disk utility and then booted from the leopard install disk and ran repair disk. Everything checked out. Still, I cannot click anywhere.

I'm not the first to have this problem:

But, unlike those guys, hopefully someone will be able to help me out.

Thanks

Well, it obviously seems like it is behaving like the trackpad button is stuck. Try a few hard clicks and releases to try to "un-gum" it up. Has anything been spilled on this machine? You can also try removing the battery and applying a little pressure behind the button to help release it.

If none of this works, and you're willing to perform surgery, you can take off the top case and check the button and the keyboard/trackpad connection cable to the logic board.
