Sorry, I'm not sure whether to post this in this forum or the software forum.
Anyway, I was on safari last night and checked out a website for lyrics. Next thing I knew, another window opened and a file started downloading! Normally, anything I download would go on my desktop, but not this file--or whatever it was. Out of stupidity, I accidently cleared my download history (thinking this would stop download [but i knew it wouldn't]). To make a long story short, I don't what I downloaded and don't know how or where to look for it. I tried looking in finder and looking at the dates of what was last downloaded. I couldn't find anything. Any thoughts would be great. I just hope it's not some nasty spyware/virus/or whatever.
Thanks in advance.

Just download it again and look how it's named. It is in your safari history.

Perhaps you did cancel it. If you clear your download history and the file disappears from the list, the download is 1) already finished, or 2) stopped. So it couldn't have been going at the time you cleared to have it disappear.
