They basically already do. I tried to get a product listed with them, and they said that if I didn't pay, I'd have to wait up to 6 months to have it listed. Then, they claimed that since it was beta, they wouldn't list it anyway.

But I get a lot more spam now that they have my email address.

I'm not a big fan of downsuck.com. They blow goats.

Sucks that these sites are all going commercial... I wouldn't be surprised if VT started charging for submissions since they started doing that Pro thing already.

Meh, it wouldn't be hard at all to make a download site, eh? (The only hard part would be spreading the word). Anyone up for a project?

I would think paying for the servers and bandwidth would be the harder part.

I just got an email from VersionTracker saying that you can pay to keep your app on the frontpage indefinitely. Sounds like the beginning of the end for VT.
