Ah I tried Bioshock 2 on an iMac running Windows XP, but it froze constantly.
Isn't Bioshock 1 so old it would run in DOSBox?

I could take Sean Connery in a fight... I could definitely take him.

I didn't even bother. There are plenty of problems to be dealt with in the PC version alone, so I will wait till they release a bunch of patches to fix the current problems.

Maybe. There have been reports of problems with Secure Rom, as with any game that uses it.

You could always download the demo. Looks like it's almost 2 gigs though.

I tried it on my 17" Santa Rosa. I had it at 1024x640 at high graphics with DX10 Detail surfaces off. It played alright most of the time, but I got some bad lag every now and then. I'd recommend setting it to Medium settings at a resolution of like 1280x800.

Yep, it works fine (on my original Core Duo 1.83, x1600). Its not that smooth at full res, but its playable at lower resolutions.
I get lag too but mostly just after level loads, I suspect my real problem is my 1Gig of RAM.

To answer my own question about how it runs on a 24" iMac with 7600GT:
Like a slideshow at native resolution. Even with settings on low (which kind of ruins the whole OMG-this-game-looks-amazing part of it), it's pretty much unplayable. *sigh* I guess I'll just try it with a lower resolution, but I have a hangup about running games at a non-native res :/
