Hi,

I mistakenly bought this Olympus VN-3100PC thinking it should upload to Virtual PC and perhaps a Mac. No luck. Plus, the file format is proprietary.

I'm looking for one that can mount in the Finder via USB or uses a memory card. Any suggestions?

Do you have an iPod? If so, you could get the voice recorder accessory.

Olympus DS-2 works with macs, is small, and is relatively easy to use (no comparison to an iPod, but seems typical for voice recorders). I've only actually used mine with my PC, though.

Hi folks!

I recently joined and am impressed with the helpfulness of advice here. I hope somebody will be able to help me here as I am new to digital voice recorders and am not that tech-savvy.

I have a Mac Powerbook G-4 laptop. I want to be able to record audio and transfer to my laptop. I would like a digital voice recorder which has a long playback/record and battery life. Ideally I'd like this to also serve as a MP3 player which has a built in speaker so I don't need to use head phones.

If you have any tips of brands/models or places I might go to do research, I would be VERY appreciative!

thanks,
Craig

This is a great recorder. Easy to use, great quality, records to WAV and MP3, runs on normal AA batteries that are easy to swap out, and mounts right on the Desktop as a USB Mass Storage device when you plug it into your Mac.

The Edirol got my iPod fund - too bad, Apple! Next time, put a decent recording function in the iPod and maybe I'll buy one.

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!
