Ill wait to see it before Superman. Or when Apple posts it in HD.

Nothing will beat the twin-towers spider-man teaser though.

I still can't find a good DVD quality version of that. I have a decent one, but not a 720x480 one. If there's one around, let me know.

Actually much of the end of the movie took place there but when 9/11 happened they had to reshoot the ending and remove any scenes with the towers in them. You can still catch some shots of it in the movie.

I'm kinda underwelmed by it. I hear there are 3-4 badguys in the movie which just screams BatMan 3 and 4.

The trailer looked ok but to much of the spiderman is a badguy thing.

You don't have to be cynical and jaded to not like bad superhero movies with dialogue like, "You mess with one New Yorker, you mess with all of us!"

We're kind of like that here in texas, too — as long as you're here legally, of course.

So let's get this straight, you hate the series as a whole because of ONE LINE?

He said dialogue "such as" that. I'm assuming he had other issues with the movies. Which I can understand. Some of the things in the first 2 movies were pretty corny. But then again, some of the things in the comic are pretty corny too. I like the movies, but I do have a desire to see Spiderman be more of a badass. You know, like rated R stuff.

Oh yeah let's see your "friendly nieghborhood Spider-man" be more of a badass. Oh wait that's what Spawn's for.

Like I said, I enjoy the movies as they are. But the macho male part of me wants to see more ass kicking. And I don't really like Spawn. I have more of a connection to Spiderman simply because of my childhood.

That trailer was pretty good.

Over all, I'm fairly satisfied with recent comic-based movies. Even X3, which was loaded with bad acting and bad dialogue, was ok.

I will echo what some have said here: does this Spidey movie have too many villains? It might, and that could be a problem. Too many villains = too little character development.

Of course, Superman Returns opens this weekend, and I suspect it will set a very high standard for future movies to follow. (Kevin Spacey looks and sounds brilliant as Lex Luthor.)

As a huge Spider-Man fan, I think the series has been excellent thus far. They've really managed to capture the spirit of the character better than I ever could've hoped.

Last I heard, Venom isn't really in the movie. I think Eddie Brock is, but I assume Spidey goes through most of the movie wearing the symbiotic costume. At least I hope that's the case. Venom is not one of my favorites. OTOH, Sandman is and he looks pretty good. I'm excited! It's nice that this is coming out in the year of Spider-Man's 45th anniversary, but I don't want to wait that long.

True, that. I should have been more specific and not generalized with Eddie maybe becoming Venom. That may be the last scene of the movie, though, but obviously the symbiote is in the flick -- which is cool.

I hear there are only going to be two villains with major roles in the movie, with Venom only at the end. Not sure about the other one, though...

Sandman and Harry Osborne. He was the Green Goblin (III) in the comics, but popular wisdom is that they'll use the Hobgoblin code name.

Teaser trailers often suck. I don't think it shows nearly enough to make a fair judgement.

I love the Spiderman movies. I was a big fan of Spidey as a kid and still am. I hope they don't call Harry Osborne 'Hobgoblin'. That was a totally different character - and quite cool I might add

I don't know if I agree or not. I loved the Hobgoblin character, but I can see the desire to name Harry something other than the Green Goblin. I guess I trust them to do what's best for the movie. As a purist, I thought I'd hate the organic webshooters, but it works for the movie.

Did anyone else notice Gwen Stacy?

yah. Hopefully she gets tossed off a bridge and gets her neck snapped by spidey. Y'know, just to stay authentic.

The trailer looks cool. The spidey movies have been fun. They are not great movies, but are great entertainment.

Wow, just wow. Seeing how Sam Rami has been doing such a good job in the last two films I'm guessing this next one will be no less cool. If not even... dare I say... more cool.

Maybe I'm not remembering the comics correctly, but didn't Spidey lure Venom up to the bell tower to knock the symbiote off of Eddie Brock?

Looks like Spidey is ripping the symbiote off of himself in the bell tower in the trailer - maybe that's when it latches on to Eddie Brock for the movie. Didn't the Fantastic Four use some big ass laser to blast it off Spidey in the comics?

The FF used a huge sonic gun IIRC. The symbiote is vulnerable to loud noise.
