This is my current mouse: http://i.imgur.com/frvJXtM.jpg
That's not an actual photo, but it's exactly what I have, the Apple Pro mouse. Yes, the "Pro" version, not the cheaper version they came out with later. Mine has the adjustable tension. I've been working through a stock pile of these mice over the years but I'm running low. It is a mono-button mouse with no scrolling abilities, which becomes more and more of a bummer with every new version of OS X.

I've tried other mice, but I always go back. I had a few "Mighty Mouse"es, but they broke after only a few months. And their scrolling and right clicking is terrible. I also really do like the Magic Mouse, but i HATE batteries. With a passion. Bluetooth mice are off the table. I also wouldn't mind an Apple Trackpad if it were part of my USB keyboard, but again, I'm not having a wireless device floating around my desk eating my batteries. But even if I got the trackpad, I'd still need a mouse for normal computer use.

So that said, there must be some good non-apple mice out there. I want something that tracks are nicely and precisely as my Apple Pro mouse, but I would like scrolling and even right clicking. I'd like the scrolling to also be... good. Meaning, no Mighty Mouse.
I did find this mouse while googling around: PEBBLE - Macally Peripherals
It looks OK but I can't really tell how big it is. And they curiously don't list any specs of the thing on that web page.

I'm open to mouse suggestions.

Why are Bluetooth mice are off the table?

The Logitech M510 is an awesome mouse with very long battery life, and you can use rechargable batteries that just switch out when needed.
If you have Ghosts, you have Everything!

I don't want to deal with batteries, even rechargable ones. Wireless mice tend to be much heavier than USB. And there will ALWAYS be a USB port 12" away from my mouse, it's stupid not to use it.

I'm also not feeling that specific mouse, i'm not into that MS style of mouse.

Take a look at gaming mice. The main difference between them and the bargain bin mice is that the microbreakers are designed to hold for more clicks than regular mice. Most of them also let you adjust the weight. I use the Logitech G500 myself - you can ignore all the extra buttons if you don't want to use them. There is also a corded version of the M500.
The new Mac Pro has up to 30 MB of cache inside the processor itself. That's more than the HD in my first Mac. Somehow I'm still running out of space.

Unfortunately even the $50 gaming RAZOR mouse was a POS. I bought two of them and they were both disobedient mis-clicking/mis-pointing ***holes to use, and both broke quickly. The cheaper mice that I tried weren't much different, and all of my old pro mice kept jamming.

The only mouse that I have seen withstand years of use without just breaking is MacAlly iOptiNet:

I used to get tons of these since they were real cheap and came with different color covers. I have one left and it still works. I'm surprised that no one has these. The closest that I can find is:
