Awesome videos; but what I like even more is the way they set up the site.

I'm not sure why the GMC part at the end keeps saying "GMC dot com backslash..." when it is clearly a forward slash in the URL they are reading.

Glad you mentioned that, SSharon. That drives me bonkers when I hear backslashes in URLs in the media. The most annoying ones are when people who should know better say it.
Cool site though.

While in the UK (actually, I believe it was while watching one of the Eurovision semi-finals), I heard a new (to me) spin on this:
“… bbc dot co dot uk slash—or ‘dash’ to some of you—eurovision” (or whatever it was precisely)
Dash?! WTF?

To me they always seem like backslashes, so I can see where they're coming from. I start at the top on my slashes, and in the URL it is a backslash to me. I go from the top, then down and back. Backslash. So, I just say "slash" now since that is less confusing to me.

They're falling forward, thus forward slash. /

It's only a backslash if you are writing it by hand and are right-handed. A form of right handed bias, I'd say. Or discrimination against left handers and keyboardists.

Sorry Rickey939, I seem to have derailed this thread. Is that why you haven't come back to post?
But seriously, how many people review an ad before it gets released to the public?

I seem to recall a bunch of guys doing these videos a while back... over and over again until they got the shot, and then compiled the successful shots on YouTube. They were pretty low budget though. Few props, and just a handicam. Then, after their YouTube videos went viral, they got some sort of commercial support to market these videos.
I guess GM is the one bankrolling them now.

Some shots are real, some aren't. Great editing skills, though.

Totally. It's really dark and they have no weapons. I find it a very depressing and hopeless situation for all involved.
They even had the smarts to kill off the main character at the end, but nooooo, they had to clone her and make a lame 4th movie.

As much as I liked Ripley, I would've enjoyed an off-sequel to ALIENS with more Colonial Marines. Maybe even one of their earlier "bug hunt" missions.

Sometimes I wonder how people keep all the threads they are involved in organized in their heads. How am I supposed to remember that the basketball shots thread is really about urls?

It's easy when you are a bot like me. How you mortals do it, I haven't a clue.
