Wow, that's odd.
Do we blame MS, or do we blame AT&T for this one though?
BTW, I wonder what the advertising budgets are when comparing MS to similar Apple product categories. So far I've been uniformly unimpressed with MS advertising, and I betcha they paid a heluvalot to get Seinfeld in their commercials with Bill.

While I find the commercial to be well done, timely and humorous... it seems like a poor way to sell smartphones.
It's like a car commercial that talks about how annoying people who tailgate are.
People aren't constantly distracted by their phones because the phones are inefficient, they are distracted because their phones are compelling.
I fail to see how Windows Phone 7 makes you more efficient and less prone to distraction than someone using iOS or Android.

Much better than the Seinfeld ads and other Microsoft ads I've seen (in terms of production and humor), but I'm not sure it sells the message that they want to sell (or should be selling). The Bing ads with the people spouting out random search terms does a good job at separating Microsoft's search (excuse me, decision) engine from the others, but nothing in the ad shows me why Windows phone will be different than iOS or Android.

Am I the only one who thought the Seinfeld ads were awesome? I feel like I'm in a bizzaro world.

Yes.
Seriously though, they did work in a sense, as they went viral.
I feel like I'm in a bizzaro world.
You're lucky that bizarro isn't really a word.
Or is it?

Simple: this phone will be crashed or frozen most of the time, so there's no reason to look at it

Now that was a funny ad. I don't know if WP7 will be a success or failure but at least that ad is pretty good.

Maybe not the best way to get at it, but the adverts have a great point. Windows Phone 7 is the best mobile OS for getting information at a glance.

Clever, but they didn't show their product for more than 2 seconds. My next question after watching was HOW.
There was a coherent youtube comment (gasp!) that said basically, "the only way to stop people from facebooking, emailing, etc is to omit those features or make them difficult to use, which is not really a selling point for a smartphone."

I like surprising thread titles like this, it's like getting a wrapped present... It could be a nice toy pony, or just new socks.

This post is the only one I have ever truly laughed out loud to in my entire reading of the MacNN Forums. It is that good. I wish I could hug it.

this is so wrong.
i immediately related to the possibility that a Window phone can't do shit and that's the only reason why people aren't spending much time on it.

I thought the post itself was pretty meh, especially considering grammatical errors.
Although the irony of the statement is hilarious.
