Want to automatically backup NAS to a firewire drive.

This seemed like such an easy thing.. Customer wants to backup his NAS to a firewire drive to take offsite nightly.
Carbon Copy Cloner and Super Duper don't allow selection of a NAS in the source window, neither does psyncx. I tried arsync (gui for rsync) and couldn't figure out a way to make it schedule a backup. I came the closest with CCC, but it seems the only way it might work is if the NAS is attached to an actual computer, which this NAS is not.
NAS has a static IP, customer is running 10.5.8.
Any suggestions?

That appears to do the trick. Worked locally, will have to test with the client.

Yeah. Way beyond the customers skill set, and I don't want to have to go see him every time his backup stops working.
