The back is awesome, the inside is nice.

The sides and front are so so.

Didn't the concepts have some wicked assed paint jobs or something? I remember it looking more impressive.

That's one nice looking car. I am thinking that our next car might well be a Volvo.

I dunno bout that, they have always been cool to dads but anyone under 20 was embarrassed to be in one.

They've been getting better since they stopped making boxes on wheels about 7 years ago. They've got some good looking enough cars now, but still if you're 20-25 and you're asked by a girl what sort of car you drive, you wouldn't really want to say Volvo. Images take a long time to change.

You could explain that they're actually pretty nice looking cars now etc etc but any car which you have to explain why it's cool, is not cool, by definition.

NICE.

Looks like the design concept from back in February actually made it into production.

Compare this thread back then:

I actually don't like the back that much. I think I would rather have the S40 T5 6sp manual. But after my 850 Turbo, I am never going to buy a Volvo again.

Was very impressed with a S60 R that I test drove a few years back. I was actually pretty interested until the sales guy claimed that it was faster than a M3. That's when my interest (in the dealership, not Volvo) just dropped ... and left. Haven't been back since. But may go back for a commuter if this ever hits the US....

I dont quite like that horizontal line on the side that ends up shaping the brake lights with sharp lines. I would prefer volvo cars if they made it more curvy sorta.

Global sales of the new C30 are targeted at 65,000 cars annually. Fully 75 percent of those sales are expected to come from Europe, with the largest markets being Italy, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom. Volvo Cars of North America, LLC (VCNA), is currently evaluating the possibility of introducing the new C30 to the U.S. market.

it seems it would be available in Canada (VCNA doesn't handle Canada)

http://tinyurl.com/zwl95

The new Volvo C30 will be unveiled to the public at the Paris motor show in September, with production beginning at the end of 2006. The car will be on-sale in Canada in early 2007

Sadly I have read that it is going to be kinda expensive, the price will be above the S40, which is considered the entry level Volvo, and right now there was no plans for a cheaper model. Not cool.

Yes, it doesn't make any sense… the cute C30 is gonna to be doomed… $25K would be more than enough to get such cute small car with a powerful engine.

Are those real photos or renderings? The one in front of the bakery looks... odd. Maybe because everything is in focus?

Hopefully it'll be similarly priced with the VW Rabit. The Rabit isn't as 'cute' though.

he coulda just been stupid...a friend here, his family owns a big local Benz dealership. His senior sales gerbil had been after another of my friends, whose company leases him two cars, one of them an M5, to switch to a Benz for a LONG time. This guy seriously, honestly believed that whatever 4-door he was pitching to him would outclass and outperform ANYthing on earth.

It's good to be sold on what you're trying to sell of course, but he'd never driven one. Finally my friend gave him the keys and said, "go drive it, and when you come back if you can give me something matching power/speed et al, I'll take it." Needless to say, the sales guy never asked again and my friend still drives M's.

I like that Volvo, kinda reminds me of that designed-for-gurls one they were showing off laste year, but I liked those color schemes a LOT better.

Honda Civic for a winter car eh? I havent yet decided if I'm going to drive my Z in the snows or maybe find an older 3-series. For as many people as swear to me that it's impossible to drive one I'm used to a 6spd V8 and LOVED it, so it cant be all THAT bad. Would be nice to have a car I can fit more than one girl into tho

Found the concept version with the 'wicked ass paint job' . So the gold bits are now black plastic, and the wheels might be a little smaller, and the windows aren't black tinted. Thats it!

I think the C30 looks alright, the headlights look a bit big for the car though. If the headlights were a bit smaller it would look great.

It'll be much easier if you just comply.
