Hmm....I'm glad for you but I'm wondering why mine hasn't shipped then. (I ordered the 12" also. I was wondering if the reason yours shipped before mine was the demand on the 12" being so great) I placed my order on 11/1. Well, don't let me rain on your parade. I'm dancing with because that should mean my will ship soon too!

My friend has a G4 800mhz ibook and there is a SIGNIFICANT performance bump.... so I'm expecting a NICE bump with 1.25ghz and a gig of ram!!! We'll see!!! Still don't know what to do with the RAM though. I've always purchased from Memory2go and have NEVER had problems.

Well... broke down and purchased memory:

www.macsales.com

$299 for 1GB PC2700 Samsung Module.... same as Apple ships with BTO.

I could have spent $50 less, but honestly, I don't want to take the chance this time around. Oddly enough, the price on this chip has dropped $66 in less than 2 weeks!!!

At work, they replaced my Powerbook 667 (512 RAM) with a 14" iBook 1.2 gigger (768 RAM)after the backlight on the TiBook croaked. I noticed a nice boost in performance, especially for games. Seeing yoru iBook was about the same speed, but a G3, you should be quite happy with your new pourchase
Don't blame me - I voted Democrat

WOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO My iBook AND printer just arrived! 5 days from Amazon.... they're the best!!!!!

I purchased the 1GB pc2700 (I know, overkill...) from www.macsales.com.

It was $269 and is the identical Samsung chip Apple uses as BTO option.

Cost more than others but I feel better about the quality.

Well it looks like my iBook will arrive today! The UPS tracking site says that it's in a town 30 minutes away and that it's "OUT FOR DELIVERY". My wife has instructions to call me as soon as it comes in. Luckily I'm self employed and work less than a block from home!

So excited!

Wooohooo! It's here. The ram should be here tomorrow! The icebooks are a lot different in feel compared to my clamshell! I love it!

Do you guys remember how long it took from "Shipping Soon" to when it actually shipped? Mines been at "Shipping Soon" since Sunday, but still shows the delivery date as tomorrow, 11/24, so I'm hoping the system just hasn't been updated yet.

So much for "Shipping Soon", I received email notice today stating "We wanted to let you know that there is a delay with item(s) in the order you placed on November 12 2004 03:44 PST"

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I don't think I'll ever get this iBook.
