Has anybody tried this or want to recommended a good module?

I'm looking to order a 1gm ram module for my newly ordered ibook..this is my first mac and I don't want to have any problems. Also don't want to pay in arm and a leg though...but it looks like there are a couple good prices on this site:

That looks pretty much like NoName to me - don't do it. It might work. It might as well not work. If you wanna play it safe, go with Crucial or Corsair or Samsung.

you can get a brand name 1gb module in that price range at newegg.

Thanks, I found a Samsung 1gb module for $235.00 - trying to email them and find out the part number: http://www.usbflashstore.com/sa1gbpc26200.html
The 1gb Kingmax module from newegg was the other one I was considering at $192.00

I'm using the Kingmax 1GB from newegg.com right now with no problems. I was initially worried because it was *so* much cheaper than the other 1GB sticks, but it has a lifetime warranty, which makes it a much safer purchase.

I've purchased from 18004Memory.com before, never had any problems with their memory not working with my Macs.

i am researching memory for my ibook 1.2ghz. there are two different pin numbers that I keep seeing: 184 pin and 200 pin. which one do i need for my ibook?

I got my 512MB stick for my 12" iBook from Other World Computing. They've been reputable for me in the past. Wanted a little case as well and since they had Marware Sportfolio II's in stock, I could grab all my immediate necessities in one order.

200 pin SO-DIMM for notebooks
184 pin DIMM for desktops

Personally, I'd go with the cheaper one. Kingmax is a pretty decent brand. Plus, you get the lifetime warranty.

Yeah I was thinking of just going with the kingmax...the only thing that made me worry was newegg charges a 15% return fee but the place selling the samsung has no fee for 30days.

Just thought I'd put an update in here for people who search the forums. I went with the Kingmax 1gb RAM from Newegg and it works great so far. I have opened every application on the system and stressed it, put the laptop to sleep several times, ran hardware test - no problems at all. (I also cleared the pram after installing) Having 1.25gb is great
