Does anyone think MacNN would benefit from more moderators? It could be a good thing to have more mods to try and keep the forums running smoothly, but then again it could feel like having the place swamped with "the law", which might not be a good thing although i've yet to meet a nasty mod.

Any thoughts?

I think the forum could use more mods if they have common sense I would be more then happy to be part of the mod team anywhere except the politics forum (as im to involved in that forum to be a good mod)

I think some fresh faces would be good.

I think after awhile, things would get boring, and one would lose interest in modding after awhile.

I know some mods barely even visit anymore. :/

I don't see how it could hurt, it can only be a good thing from my point of view since it would take the pressure off the "main" mods and mean that the forums could be kept running better.

It seems some mods now are just not interested in being so anymore. But also don't want to give up their "status" at the same time.

I have had some tell me they were busy and didn't even pay attention to the forum that much.

Then WHY do they keep the "job" ? Why not pass on the torch?

This thread has been up for how many weeks? Not one reply by those in charge.

I agree, if they don't have the time, pass their status on to someone who does, or at least become "Moderator Emiratus". I'd be happy to take up a position if they needed someone.

Yep. More mods required.

The balance between "boring" and "nasty" is nearly right at the moment, perhaps just a little too edgy (especially when the crowd descends on folks like WD Love or, in today's incident, Monique).

Difficult job, I'm sure.

Hee, I remember when Rob actually volunteered to be a mod. That was awesome.
